unlock your child’s potential

As a parent you want to give your child the best start in life, which is why looking after their eyes is important. Along with allergies and asthma, eye disorders are the most common long-term health problems experinced by children. 80% of a child’s learning and development is obtained through their vision. Many children’s vision problems don’t have obvious signs and symptoms, with 1 in 4 school-aged children having undiagnosed vision problems. These generally aren’t detected in school vision screenings. Children often can’t tell their parents they have a problem with their eyes, because they don’t know what ‘normal’ eyesight is.

Behavioural Symptoms

Signs and symptoms your child may have vision problems:

  • Does your child squint?

  • Do they tilt their head when focusing?

  • Does your child sit close to the TV?

  • Does your child have poor hand-eye coordination?

  • Does your child struggle with concentration or reading?

  • Does your child lean over their desk while doing homework?

The eyes are the physical portal through which data from your environment is collected and sent to your brain. A vital organ which helps us constantly keep learning.

It is important to for children to do regular eye health examinations to catch early concerns, to give your child the best chance at preventing the condition from worsening.
